About 50 years ago Prince Karim Aga Khan arrived on the northern coast of Sardinia and immediately realized its enormous potential. In fact, the island is home to several courses, including the prestigious Pevero Golf Club, which extends for 6,175 meters between the bay of Pevero and the bay of Cala di Volpe, winding through the green Sardinian hills. Designed in 1967 by the great architect Robert Trent Jones for Prince Karim Aga Khan, it was inaugurated in 1972. This golf course stands out for the careful study made by its creator regarding the positioning of the greens and fairways. Not only they are positioned in such a way as to be enjoyable regardless of the intensity of the winds, but they are also designed to provide privileged observation points over the magnificent views offered by this enchanting stretch of coast. The attention and extreme care taken in the positioning of the various elements of the course has led to the Pevero Golf Club being repeatedly recognized as one of the best courses in the world, becoming a benchmark for golf design and home to some of the most important tournaments in the world.

Pevero Golf – Location and services

This spectacular 18-hole course is hosted by the Costa Smeralda, located on the north-eastern coast of Sardinia, in the heart of Gallura, an area of extraordinary natural beauty, preserved by strict landscape conservation laws established in the 1960s. The area of Gallura-Costa Smeralda, with its 450 km of protected coastline and 20 islands, is a unique landscape of beautiful white sandy beaches, rocky cliffs, Mediterranean maquis and small islands, among which those of the Archipelago de La Maddalena are particularly well known. The Pevero Golf Club courses are harmoniously integrated in a truly enviable setting, thanks to natural ponds set among the granite rocks characteristic of Sardinia and a fragrant undergrowth with typical Mediterranean essences, such as myrtle, juniper and arbutus. In addition, there are the incomparable views of the Gulf of Pevero, the island of Caprera and the reliefs of Corsica.
