Thursday, May 23: a welcome cocktail at the Marina officially opened the grand finale of the Melges World League in Puntaldia. The renowned Sardinian village hosted the second step of this great sporting event. Immobilsarda, one of the main sponsors, promoted this opening night, together with other well-known names such as Il Marino for catering, Ichnusa and Revì Trento doc for beverage. To conclude the evening a pleasant djset.
The races
The weather conditions did not allow the first race to take place, scheduled around 12:00 on Friday, May 24, when, however, there were refreshments at the return to port. This first race has been finally held the next day, at 11:30 a.m., and the Russian team triumphed. For the occasion Ichnusa, one of the sponsors of the event, made its boat available to the representatives of the other sponsors, including Immobilsarda, so that they could be in the front line in following the race.
Even on Sunday 27th May, weather conditions were not exactly the most suitable for a grand finale, but the judges decided that the competition could take place just the same. The race was followed by the awards ceremony, this was the ranking of the grand final of the Melges 20 World League in Puntaldia: in third place “Pirogovo” (Russia), in second place “Russian Bogatyrs” and on the top step of the podium “BOOGIE 2.0” (Argentina).

The general satisfaction confirmed how impeccable the organization has been, so much so that Melges seems to have already included Puntaldia among the locations for the races of the 2020 edition.
